About the exhibit… Always Inspired
Whether it be hunkered down alone in their studios with gale-force winds blowing outside, sitting in their budding gardens feeling the warmth of the spring sunshine, or walking down country roads with camera in hand…
Kawartha Arts Network (KAN) artists find inspiration everywhere.
Granted there have been difficult times over the past months.
Many of the artists have had days, even weeks, feeling like simple tasks such as meal planning or cleaning the bathroom were all they had the drive to accomplish.
But then that innate desire to create kicked in and new artworks were born.
The artists of KAN have risen to monthly KAN member challenges, everything from “what you fear” to a more lighthearted “portray yourself as a garden gnome” as well as digging deeper into personal creative explorations.
Since their last Kawartha Art Gallery show in 2020, “Works From Home”, there has been a lessening of pandemic restrictions as well as increased lockdowns. With vaccines being available for many now, there are brighter times ahead…
We look forward to warmer days, flowers in the garden and the artists of Kawartha Arts Network continuing to be inspired.

At times of stress in my life, I have looked for Inner Peace. In Nepal I attended a Buddhist retreat on this subject. It has been my lifelong quest.

My art inspirations are a long-standing background in dance and my love of nature.

Water, nature, friends and the family memories of over 60 years on the lake system inspire me every day.
