Prior to retiring from the corporate world, Astrid worked as a freelance Landscape Architect working with Metro Conservation and Ministry of Natural Resources.
Since retiring Astrid has become an active member in the local arts community by joining art workshops with the Kawartha Arts Network (KAN), Studio 201 in Peterborough and is a member of the Kawartha Art Gallery in Lindsay, Ontario.
You will see her artwork on public display in Lindsay as one of the selected pieces of the 2023 It’s a Wrap Program to beautify traffic control boxes in the town.
Astrid is also a professional Paint Nite Host with Paintnite.com and you will find her at local venues conducting painting events.

My years working with Metro Conservation and the Ministry of Natural Resources had the most impact on my artistic style, themes and philosophy in depicting art in the landscape.
Since moving to the Washburn Island community on the shores of Lake Scugog, I enjoy my love of the outdoors full time.
My art often gets inspired by the daily sunset views and continual activities of wildlife, particularly waterfowl and birds to create, not only canvas paintings, but artworks on furniture, upholstery, wood and canoe paddles.
