MEET BEV WILLIAMS OF WILLIAMS DESIGN STUDIO
Beverley decorates hard shelled gourds with pyrography (wood burning) and works with leather, metal, fibres and wood.
Beverley graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1969. and won 2 scholarships to travel in Europe in 1970, visiting other artisans in various countries. Together they started Williams Design Studio in Jan. 1974.
Paul designs and builds unique sculptural art pieces in brass, copper and stainless steel. He has won many awards for his work and has had pieces shown in Canada; the USA, the United Kingdom, Europe; Australia, & Montreal Olympics 1976.
In recent years Beverley and Paul have created large Donor Wall Sculptures for Community Care, Lindsay, City of Kawartha Lakes; Millbrook Medical Centre; Omemee Medical Centre and the Liftlock Hockey League at the Evinrude Centre in Peterborough.
Their largest public commission is an 18' high Maple Tree in the lobby of the Best Western Inn, Cobourg, Ontario, created with hundreds of beautiful Maple Leaves in shiny copper, brass and stainless steel.
Beverley and Paul have travelled as volunteer artisans to offer their expertise in leather working and textiles to fellow artisans in Guyana, and Peru, South America through the CESO, programs 2015/2016.
Beverley and Paul share a studio in a 110-year-old, early Ontario General Store in 'downtown' Bethany, where you can see their workspace and gallery.
During the spring to fall, they open their SECRET GARDEN with a dozen different fountains and water features for visitors to tour and enjoy. Their studio/gallery is open by chance or by appointment.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Paul and I love experimenting with a wide variety of materials, including stone, leather, a variety of woods. The forms colours and textures in nature truly inspire our design ideas.
