My landscape makes me feel like I finally accomplished something big, and the fact I’m done makes me so proud of myself. The landscape has light blue water, some land in the background, and a railing for the foreground. I didn’t think I’d make it this far in the Art class, but I did and I accomplished something big.
My idea of my work was to make it seem like it’s someone looking past their cottage, to see a big lake ahead of them, and some other Islands as well. My original idea was, someone looking behind their house, to see a lake behind them, and some boats but that is not how I went with the painting when I started to actually paint it.
The pink tree

My piece is called The Pink Tree. I named it The Pink Tree is because the whole point of the painting is the tree that is not a normal tree.
The tree looks like a cherry tree because it’s pink and has like flower that smells really good.
It looks like there is only one tree in the picture but it’s actually some trees in the background. There is also a lake but I don’t think it looks so realistic that I wanted it to do. The same thing happened to the sky. The tree stands on a small little island in the middle of the lake. You can also see in the background that is some small mountains of rocks.
The colours that I used for the tree is three different shades of pink and added a little bit white. For the water I took four different shades of blue and only some of them did I blend. Same for the sky. I tried to make the small mountains as realistic as possible. To paint the painting I used paint, pencil, canvas, water and different sizes of paintbrushes.
How I got inspired, was from a picture on Google that I copied. Why I chose a picture with a pink tree is because I have done a pink tree before with my mom.
I don’t know the name or anything about the artist.
I had some problems when I was painting this piece, for example, when I was doing the flowers on the tree I messed up and tried to cover it up. I think that I did the mountains OK but I could have done it better. I didn’t like the island where the tree was standing on because I don’t think the island was as realistic as I wanted it to be.
