Artist Statement:
I took a photo at my uncle's cottage, and there we went boating, tubing, swimming, and jet skiing. When I look at the photo it reminds me of fun memories.
The central idea of my work is the lighthouse. The artistic intent of my painting was making my painting look as realistic as the photo I took. Specifically I wanted the rocks on the lighthouse to be realistic because the lighthouse is made up from rocks and it is the main focus of the painting.
The artistic challenge that I had was making the water look realistic. I accomplished this challenge by having the technique modelled to me and I then attempted it myself.

TITLE: The hunt
SIZE: 11x 13,4 in
MEDIUM: Acrylic on canvas
Artist Statement:
My painting has a deer standing still, surrounded by the forest. It is supposed to look like you are watching the view from a scope. In the back you can see the sunset. I used paint to do it. The thing that inspired me was that I feel like hunters often hunt deer to make trophies, food or carpets. I don’t want deers to be killed. I felt like it could be inspiring to make a picture of the real world. I feel like the nose of the deer wasn’t very well painted but it’s okay. I really like the tail though.
So my picture is pretty okay!
