Artist Statement:
“My experience in the art world roots back to when I took painting classes as a kid. From there my passion for art grew and I decided to take art and media classes all through high school. In high school I worked with many mediums beyond oil and acrylic paint, such as: water colour, mixed media, charcoal, found objects, collaging, and oil pastels. I had only ever used Adobe Creative Suite to assist me with my art, never to actually create the final product until I enrolled in the Bachelor of Creative Advertising at Humber College. By being in this program I have become so much more familiar with these programs and the possibilities of what can be created on them. Which leads me to where I am right now in my artistic journey, exploring digital art.”
“In this piece I was exploring the form of the human face. I used geometric lines and shapes in order to represent facial features and shadows on the face. This was the first time I had created a digital drawing, therefore there was a lot of experimentation involved in my process, like: line thickness, colour changes, brush strokes, etc.”
“In this piece I was exploring distortion of the human body. The idea behind this piece was to make it look like the lack of gravity is pulling the body parts apart. My intention was to use rings and swirling lines to mimic rings on planets.”
