MEET JEWEL ALLINGTON
After a successful nursing career, I decided that I needed another avenue to express my passion for life. In my mid- sixties, I picked up a pencil and brush and with great trepidation, I followed an unplanned, instinctive passion to produce art. How my life had changed!
Any success I have had on this journey, I attribute to the teachings and encouragement of Anne Cavanagh, Mary McLoughlin and Lucy Manley.
I hope you enjoy my bold strokes of colour and the hidden passages of light and dark in all my paintings. Nature in its beauty draws us to look more deeply within.
ARTIST STATEMENT
As an artist, I am moved by brilliant colour. The dramatic change of the seasons and the beauty
of the natural world. The richness of oil paint allows me to express my joy.
