Only hope remained inside Pandora’s box...hope that might somehow help mankind cope with the evil unleashed upon the earth. Using the story of Pandora as inspiration I created a folk-art message stone of hope and staged it in a natural setting. I chose the chipmunk as a model not only for its charm and appeal but because their destruction nature can sometimes cast them in the role of the villain. My image entitled The Hope Stone, presents a vision of hope for the future. Hope that we might find creative ways to engage with nature on its own terms instead of trying to force it to bend to our will. Hope that we might learn to appreciate even the smallest details in the world around us.
