Meet the Art Warrior Jurors - Lesley Drummond

Lesley Drummond is an artist, educator and curator who has been actively involved in the Kawartha Lakes Arts community since 1985. Currently on the Board of Directors for the Kawartha Lakes Arts Council and Director of the Kawartha Arts Network, (a local artists’ co-operative), she is based in the Janetville area. After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Queen’s University, Lesley worked at both public and private art galleries in Toronto, then transitioned to being Visual Arts and Design department head at the high school level in Kawartha Lakes for the next thirty years. She also ran the Visual Arts section of the local arts enrichment camp for TLDSB. She has served as Artist in Residence in three provincial parks and her volunteer work has included being involved with Girl Guides of Canada for over fifty years. Since her retirement in 2015, Lesley has had the chance to focus a little more on her own artwork. She uses imagery from her extensive travels over the years along with her love of nature to inspire her compositions. Her chosen media are acrylics, photo transfers, ink drawing, and textural collage elements and her work can be found in numerous private collections across Canada.
