Artist Statement:
“I am a creative artist who loves to capture the beauty of nature through the exploration of colour and texture. I like to bring nature to life and encaptivate the viewer, allowing them to place themselves in the story behind each piece. Oil paint is my preferred medium as it allows for the playful investigation of different techniques while bringing a layered depth and texture that intrigues the eye and captivates the mind.”
“This series is one of my favourite pieces. While each scene is unique to its own colour story, they come together in similar depth and texture. My inspiration in this piece comes from nature in the summertime and capturing its beauty through the use of colour that brings a vibrancy to each scene. This not only makes each of them stand out but also draws one in to take a closer look.”
“This piece takes one of nature’s most beautiful insects and magnifies half of its beauty to put more focus on the details. A large portion of this piece was created using a palette knife to show visible texture in both the wing and the background for a raw stylistic effect. Each colour in the wing represents different natural elements including fire, water, and earth as a tribute to the beauty of the natural environment and how all the pieces come together to create a whole.”
