As an avid wilderness traveler, I have rafted, canoed and camped throughout Canada’s provinces and territories. Coast to coast and throughout the High Arctic and Greenland, I have adventured gathering inspiration, photographing, sketching, and painting en plein air wherever possible. The immediacy of plein air painting is always challenging and exciting. I use these sketches when planning a larger studio painting; sometimes they remain a visual diary of my travels.
The white quartzite of the La Cloche mountains and the vibrant fall colours often inspire plein air painting and photography.
