Elayne Windsor
Elayne Windsor is an award winning collage artist from the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario. Her work has been exhibited, in group and solo shows, across Ontario and in the US. Elayne is the Meeting Chairperson for the "Kawartha Arts Network", the New Membership Chair for the "Colour and Form Society" and an elected member of the "Ontario Society of Artists".
Elayne's works are created with found and purchased paper. The paper might be sourced from old atlases, sewing papers, decks of cards, old newspaper, books or wrapping papers. The paper found dictates the imagery. Each piece that is placed creates a dialogue with pieces that have already been laid. As a collage artist, Elayne is an agent for change, transforming the past into a new tomorrow. The work is built on juxtaposition and gestalt, the interplay of elements that will form a new, connective whole. The collages are made of many small parts but the viewer sees the whole image first. Elayne is excited about taking collage into new directions.
