Ann Louise Smith began painting in 1995 when her husband marched her to a store while wintering in Florida and he purchased all the necessary supplies and signed her up for oil painting classes. In 1997 she moved to Lindsay and joined the painting group held at the Armouries under the guidance of Dorothea Weise. She has taken many classes with several teachers over the years. She has been the convenor for the seniors art group for fourteen years now. Her biggest accomplishment has been her watercolour painting titled “Historical Lindsay” which was purchased by the Town of Lindsay and hangs in City Hall. Ann teaches beginner basics and loves getting others started in watercolours.
