“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.” - Leonardo da Vinci
Inspired by the connection between art and the written word, this exhibit explores their equal capacities to express what is deeply felt. While we often hear the old saying “A picture is worth a thousand words”, perhaps it is also true that words can paint a thousand pictures. Moreover, when paired together, words and art can enhance one another by providing an entirely new frame of reference. In Paint Me A Poem, we invite you to explore what is illuminated though bringing poem and painting together in conversation.
