Colours of Autumn

  • Kawartha Art Gallery 190 Kent Street West Kawartha Lakes, ON, K9V 2Y6 Canada (map)

Featuring a selection of artworks from our Permanent Collection

EXHIBITION STATEMENT

The Colours of Autumn exhibit is a selection of artworks from within Kawartha Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection that celebrates the Colours of Autumn.

As our days grow shorter and our temperatures begin to drop, Nature puts on one of its most artistic displays of colour, the transition from the subtle green shades of Spring and Summer to the vivid yellow, orange, and red of Autumn.

Kawartha Art Gallery is both an exhibit space and a repository of a Permanent Collection of over 100 pieces of Canadian artwork and sculpture in trust for the citizens of the City Of Kawartha Lakes.

The purpose of the Permanent Collection is to preserve, research and interpret works of art for the education and enjoyment of our community, actively developing and maintaining a historical reference through the collection of works.

In working to foster awareness, enhancement, and enjoyment of the Arts through exhibitions and programming for the benefit of the citizens of the City of Kawartha Lakes, Kawartha Art Gallery is open to the public and admission is free.

Come and discover a palette of the rich colours of Ontario Autumn landscapes! The Gallery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10AM to 4PM.

Admission is free and whether you're looking to explore your own backyard or for a weekend getaway close to home, Kawartha Lakes is the perfect fall destination. Located only 90 minutes north east of Toronto our 600 km of trails, 250 lakes and rivers, welcoming communities and memorable attractions are open and awaiting your visit. Now is the best time to explore and rediscover Kawartha Lakes.

Check out the City of Kawartha Lakes website to find a guide to Quick Access Links to start planning your trip!
